David F. Gaudet

1950 - 2017





David F. Gaudet, 67, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on Friday, September 15th, with his loving family by his side. David was born in Malden in 1950, the son of Frederick and Louise (Angelini) Gaudet. He was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1969. He immediately enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He saw combat aboard the USS Wiltsie, and was awarded 4 Bronze Stars for his service. Upon his honorably discharge, he returned to the Malden area. In 1976, he married his sweetheart, Jo-Ann M. Fayne, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their family. He and Jo-Ann shared 35 years of marriage together until her passing in 2011. David had most recently been working for the IKON copy machine company, in their mail facilities department. Prior to that he worked at State Street Bank in a similar fashion. David was member of the AM VETS and the VFW of Malden. He enjoyed antiquing and browsing at yard sales and flea markets. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach.


He is survived by his children, Scott M. Gaudet and wife Tracy of Scituate, Kimberly A. Gaudet of Malden, and Nicole Gaudet of Malden; his sisters, Paula A. Pergakis of Norwood, Catherine Angelini of Dedham, and Donna M. Henry of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Peyton and Landon of Malden; and his dear friends, Philip Doherty of Woburn and Dan Howe of Dorchester.


David was preceded in death by his wife, Jo-Ann (Fayne) Gaudet.


Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Thursday, September 21st, at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Hearts Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.


Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 20th, from 4-8 PM.
