Natalie C. Mambuca
Natalie C. (Ellison) Mambuca, 89, of Cumberland, Maine,
formerly of Malden and Everett, MA, passed away on October 13,
2016, following a brief illness. She was born in Melrose, MA, a
daughter of Holger A. and Ida O. (Carlson) Ellison. She grew up
in Everett, MA, and graduated from Everett High School in 1944.
She graduated from Malden Hospital School of Nursing as a
Registered Nurse. She married Anthony F. Mambuca on August 30,
1947 and they shared 62 years of marriage before his death in
2009. She worked at Malden Hospital for many years and later
worked at Dexter House as an RN and also taught CNA classes.
She was a member of First Church in Malden for 52 years where
she was very active until she left Malden in 2008.
She was a charter volunteer in the 1980's when the community
helped resettle Vietnamese refugees in Malden, where Natalie and
Tony opened their home to families for many years. She received
a community award for her compassionate involvement.
Natalie is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Dr. Harold)
Landwehr of Marion, IL, and Marilyn (Lawrence) Morse of
Cumberland, ME; son, Dam (Erin) Tran of Stoneham, MA; brother,
John (Ellen) Ellison of Everett, MA. She is also survived
by grandchildren, Stephen Morse, Heather Morse, Matthew, Logan,
Lillian and Addison Tran, and many nieces, nephews and grands.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October
20, 2016, at First Church in Malden, 184 Pleasant St., Malden,
MA, with Rev. Patrick McCorkle officiating.
