Robert J. “Bo” Cormier passed away
on October 2, 2017 after a short illness, in the
Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, he was 72. Bo was the son of the
late Joseph L. & Jeanevitta (Izzicupo) Cormier. He was born in
Boston on March 22, 1945 and lived with his parents in North End
section of Boston.
Bo was a graduate of Brighton High
School Class of 1963. Bob would meet and later marry the love
of his life, Ann Marie Zerella. The couple lived in the North
End of Boston and later moved to Malden in the 1970’s. They
would start a family and would later welcome their two sons
Robert & Jason.
Bob was a Union Laborer for Local #
22 in Boston, working on constructions jobs throughout the
Boston area. Bob worked many years on the Big Dig Tunnel
Project in Boston. One of his fond memories was his work
assisting in the installation of the white support cables, which
hang from the Boston land mark, the Zakim Bridge in Boston. He
was also a laborer working at the U.S. Gypsum Company of Boston
before the closing of the plant. He witnessed and received
pieces of the last gypsum board coming off the line for the last
time before that plant location closed in 2008. He was with the
union for over 20 years and retired 10 years ago.
In his spare time Bo enjoyed relaxing at
home and also enjoyed deep sea fishing. He was a longtime member
of the Eastside A/A Club. He also enjoyed spending time with the
Friends of the North End, attending different event and
reminiscing with old friends and neighbors from the North End.
He loved the time with his munchkin and she loved her times she
spent with her “Papa Bo ”.
Bo is survived by his wife Ann Marie
(Zarella) Cormier and his two sons Robert A. Cormier & Jason P.
Cormier all of Malden and his cherished granddaughter Avianna
Funeral services will be held at the
Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden,
on Thursday October 12th at 10AM, followed by
entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral
home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 4-8PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions in
Bob’s memory may be made to a fund that is being setup for his
granddaughter, Avianna Cormier, educational fund. To be announced
