Sybil A. Bellefontaine

Sybil A. (Cummings) Bellefontaine, a longtime resident of Everett, passed away on August 5th, with all she loved and cherished by her side.  Sybil was born in Malden in 1945, the daughter of Phyllis and Howard Cummings.  She was educated in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1963.  In 1977, she married Wallace Bellefontaine and settled down in Everett together where they raised their children.  They shared 43 years of marriage together until Wally’s passing earlier this year.  She worked for the Medford VNA and became the Director of the Home Health Aides.  While working, she attended the University of Massachusetts, Boston and graduated in 1987 with a degree in Gerontology.  Even after retiring from the VNA, she volunteered at the Ferryway School in Malden.  Outside of work, Sybil enjoyed spending time with her friends and her dog Ginny.  She was an avid reader.  She also loved going up to the family camp in Alton Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Peloquin of Methuen, Michael Clark of Tucson, Arizona and Adam Bellefontaine of Boston and her granddaughters, Haley, Morgan and Sidney Peloquin.

Sybil was preceded in death by her husband Wallace, and her sister, Jill Spinella.

A night of visitation will be held for Sybil on Tuesday, August 11 from 4-8pm at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden.  All other services will be private.
