Mary G. Wright

September 25, 1931  -  October 21, 2016

 

      Mary G. (Palazzuolo) Wright, a longtime resident of Melrose formerly of Malden passed away at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital with her loving family at her side, she was 85. Mary was born in East Boston, the daughter of the late Anthony & Constantina (Sgobbo) Palazzuolo.

       Mary was educated in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School class of 1949. Mary later met and married her sweetheart Ronald H. Wright. In 1952 the couple married in Somerville and settled in Malden. They started a family and would through the years welcome their six children, Douglas, Edward, Judith, Thomas, Christine and Lisa. The couple later moved to Melrose. Mary and Ron were married for 50 years until Ron’s passing in August of 2002.

        In her early years Mary worked as a cafeteria worker for the Winchester School System and later as an office worker for local banks in the area. She was known as a great cook, enjoyed watching a good movie and listening to all types of music. She enjoyed having the family for Sunday dinner, she also enjoyed keeping active & staying in shape. She was a very active woman that loved life and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

        Mary is survived by her loving children, Douglas E. Wright and his wife Jacqueline of Danvers, Edward R. Wright and his wife Mary Ann of NH, Judith M. Foley of Melrose , Thomas M. Wright of Lynn, Christine M. Wright of Melrose and Lisa A. Connor and her husband Rob of Westborough. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

       Mary was predeceased by her husband, Ronald H. Wright, her siblings, Jay Molinari, Phillip Palazzuolo, Lil Caponigro and her husband Andrew, her grandson Mark R. Foley and her son in-law Robert Foley.

       Mary’s funeral will held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Wed., Oct. 26th. at 8AM, followed  by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's of the Annunciation Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM.  Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

      Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tues. Oct. 25th. from 4-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America, please visit ADAA.org to make donations.
