 Ronald G. Whitman Sr.

     Ronald G. Whitman Sr, a retired printer, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept 25th. Ronald was born and raised in Cambridge, attending the Cambridge Ringe and Latin School Trade School. Soon after school, he married his longtime sweetheart, Jane A. MacAskill. They eventually settled down in Malden where they raised their family. Ronald became a member of The First Church of Malden, Congregational, where he also served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots. His favorite times were spent with his family whom he loved.

     Ronald had worked for many years as a printer.  He worked at Globe Ticket in Woburn, until the company relocated.  When they did move, Ron chose to keep working, and took a job at MIT where he worked in the custodial department.  He worked at MIT for 10 years before retiring from there. 

     He is survived by his wife, Jane A. (MacAskill) Whitman, his children, Ronald G. Whitman Jr. of Stoneham, Mark J. Whitman of England, and Wendy A. Muzorewa of Malden, his siblings, Charlotte Wilson of FL, Robert Whitman of VA, Almon Whitman Jr of SC, Warren Whitman of RI, and Ralph Whitman of Plymouth, his grandchildren, Ashley, Vanessa, Derek, Shauna, Ashanti, Stephen, and Peter, and his great granddaughter, Aria.

     Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Fri, Sept 30th, at 10 AM. Committal will be private.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thurs, Sept 29th, from 4 – 8 PM

     In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s memory may be made to: The National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
