Milton Whiting

1934 - 2018


Milton Whiting, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Thursday February 22, 2018 after a long illness at the Kaplan House hospice in Danvers at age 83. Milton was born in Everett in 1934 the son of the late Charles and Charlotte (Herrstrom) Whiting. He was raised in Everett and attended Everett high school.

He entered the National Guard 182nd regimental combat team. He attained the rank of Sergeant and served for ten years
On June 22 of 1958, Milton married the love of his life, Olive J. Cunningham, and the two settled down in Malden. They shared nearly sixty years of marriage. In their spare time Milton and Olive enjoyed playing and composing music. He enjoyed spending time with his, beloved wife and children & grandchildren.

Milton is survived by his loving wife Olive J. (Cunningham) Whiting. Devoted father of Charles Whiting of Malden, Christopher Whiting of Everett, Joseph Whiting of Malden and Olive (Whiting) Schulze of Billerica. Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers Charles E. Whiting and Robert E. Whiting.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Tues, Feb 27th, at 10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 11:30. Committal will be private.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday February 26th from 4PM to 8PM.
