Michael D. Vetree
1933 - 2018
Michael D. Vetree, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on
Wednesday, Nov 14th, after a brief illness. Michael was born in
Melrose in 1933, the son of Dante and Irene Vetree. He was
raised and educated in Malden, graduated from Malden High School
with the Class of 1951. Soon after high school, Michael enlisted
in the US Air Force to help our country fight in the Korean
War. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Malden. He
began working at the H.P. Hood Milk plant in Charlestown, and
after 35 years with the company, he retired as a Maintenance
Michael was an avid Boston sports fan, especially loving the Red
Sox and Patriots. He was also was a “history fanatic”. But most
of all, he enjoyed spending time with the company of his family.
He is survived by his children, Dennis M. Vetree & his wife
Diane of Georgetown, Michelle A. Vetree of Woburn, Chris E.
Vetree of Malden, Michael S. Vetree of Malden, Jill P. Vetree of
Malden, his brother, Dante V. Vetree of Everett, his
grandchildren, of Vincent, Steven, Shawn, Kali, Alyssa, Brianna,
and Lauren, Carissa & Scott, his great grandchildren, Amber and
Steven, also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his
daughter, Dawn Marie Colucci, and his brother, William Vetree
and his former wife & mother of all his children, Shirley Vetree
Visiting hours will be held on Tues, Nov 21st, from 4 – 8 PM at
the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St,
Malden. A graveside service for Michael will be held on Wed., Nov.
22nd, in Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest St, Malden, at 11 AM.
