Robert L. Tramondozzi

1940 - 2019

 

   Robert  L. “Bob”  Tramondozzi  of  Yarmouth  Port, formerly of Malden passed away suddenly,  Monday afternoon in the Cape Cod Hospital in Barnstable, MA.  He was 79.

   Bob was the son of the late Robert & Concetta (Cedrone) Tramondozzi. Bob was a lifelong resident of Malden. He was educated in the Immaculate Conception School and was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School Class of 1958.  Bob excelled in football at Malden Catholic and was years later inducted in the Sports Hall of Fame.

   During high school, Bob would meet and later marry Mary E. (McMorrow). The couple resided in Malden and started a family. They welcomed their three children, Laureen, Robert and Stephen.

   Bob worked for the former KeySpan Gas in Malden, as a gas serviceman for 40 years and would later retire in 2003. After retirement, Bob would meet and marry Lena M. Smolinsky in 2005. The couple settled in Yarmouth Port where they lived for the last fifteen years; they would winter in Florida and enjoyed the Cape in the summer and fall months.  In his spare time Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, and claming the shores of the Cape. He was considered very handy around the house and enjoyed wood working and model building.

   He was a member of the Malden/Wakefield Knights of Columbus and the Danvers’s Fish & Game Club. He assisted with the St. Jude’s Association on their donation drives in the Malden area.  He enjoyed running in the local road races with the Malden YMCA. Bob, not one to stay still during retirement, also worked for the Hy-Line Cruises, as a parking assistant.

   Bob is survived by his loving wife Lena “Lee” M. Smolinsky-Tramondozzi.  Beloved father of daughter  Laureen A. Warren and her husband Russell, his son  Robert P. Tramondozzi and his wife Christine all of Peabody, his son, Stephen W. Tramondozzi  and his wife Patti of Malden. Thomas  Smolinsky and his wife Lorrey and  John  Smolinsky  and his wife Stephanie all of Danvers. Bob was the loving brother of Mary DiBari of Malden, Antoinette Port of HI, Odilia “Tillie” Savage of Dennis and John Tramondozzi of Malden. Cherished grandfather of Molly & Rebecca Warren, Jessica Wells, Robert P. Tramondozzi Jr., Leah & Jill Tramondozzi and great-grandfather of Harley & Isabelle Wells.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary E. (McMorrow) Tramondozzi. 

   Bob’s funeral will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 9AM   followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Parish, 297 Main St., Malden at 10AM. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thurs., August 29, 2019 from 4-8 PM.

Interment will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Mary Ellen Tramondozzi Nursing Scholarship, c/o Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice, 178 Savin St., Malden, MA 02148.
