Theodore F. Zehnpfennig, a retired physicist, passed away on April 2, 2017, in Malden. Ted was born in 1940, the son of Francis and Gladys Zehnpfennig. After high school, he attended MIT in Cambridge, where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree. While at MIT, he enjoyed the antics that he and his friends engaged in while living at Senior House at MIT. After graduating he worked for Visidyne, Inc. doing research and development before he retired. He was an inventor with seven patents that were granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office while he was working at Visidyne .He will live forever through the research he performed and the patents that were granted to him. He loved astronomy and looking at the wonders in the sky through his beloved telescope.  He will be missed by many of the people whose lives he touched, and will always remember the twinkle in his eye.


He was preceded in death by his former wife, Jane Thankful Smith.


Theodore is survived by his brother, Gary Zehnpfennig and wife Kathy of Roanoke, VA and his nephew, Jason Zehnpfennig of Roanoke, VA.


A memorial service will be held for Ted on Monday, April 10th, at 1 PM at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden.


Donations in his memory may be made to the Senior Housing Dormitory at MIT, 70 Amherst St, Cambridge, MA 02142
