Simone (Pierre) Sylvestre

 

Simone (Pierre DeBrose) Sylvestre,  a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, July 8th,  at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden.  Simone was born in Haiti in 1931.  She was raised in Gonaives, Haiti, and in turn raised her children there.  In 1985 she moved to the Boston area, first living in Allston before moving to Malden in 1996.  She became a dedicated member of the Sacred Hearts Church in Malden.  Simone enjoyed listening to music and singing, and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and cooking family dinners.

She is survived by her children, Patrick Sylvestre  of Malden, Amyel  Sylvestre of Quincy, Jacques Sylvestre of Malden, Etienne Sylvestre of Malden, Antoine Metayer of Malden, Kerby Metayer of New Orleans, and Essie Limage of NY, as well as 3  sisters, and her grandchildren,  Janelle Sylvestre, Justine Sylvestre, Patrick Sylvestre Jr, Elijah Sylvestre, and Edo Sylvestre. She also is loved by a very large extended family in Canada, New York, Florida, Boston, Georgia, Bermuda and Haiti of which there are too many to individually list.

Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Wednesday, July 15th, at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church 315 Main Street, Malden, at 10 AM.  Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery,  Hyde Park.
