Lawrence J. Sullivan,
1938 - 2019
Lawrence J. Jr. a longtime resident of Malden, passed away in
Melrose, on Tuesday, January 8th, with his loving family by his
side. Larry was born in Boston in 1938, the son of Lawrence J.
Sr. and Clara R. (Orlando) Sullivan. He was raised in Boston and
graduated from South Boston High School with the Class of 1956.
He then entered the US Marine Corp, and earned the rank of
Corporal before his honorable discharge. In 1962, he married his
sweetheart, Lorraine Tucker, and the two soon moved to Malden
where they raised their family. Larry joined the Teamsters Local
25, worked as a rigger for Shaughnessy and Ahern Co., serving as
shop steward for the union. He volunteered his time with Malden
Pop Warner Football, as a coach and serving on the board. Larry
was a member of the Irish American in Malden, the Knights of
Columbus, and the Semper Fidelis Society.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine B. (Tucker) Sullivan, his
children, Michael Sullivan and wife Sandy of Malden, Kevin
Sullivan and wife Kelli of Hingham, and Kelley Joyce and husband
John of Weymouth, brother of Paul Sullivan of FL, Joseph
Sullivan of Bourne, grandfather toTricia, Katey, Brandon,
Jordan, Cameron, Madison, Johnny and Kurt, and great grandfather
of Benjamin, Clyde, and Emmeline.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Clara
Sullivan, and his sister, Arlene Nee.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Thurs, Jan 10th, from 4 – 8 PM
Services will be held from the funeral home on Fri, January
11th, at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow in Forest
