Philip M. "Buddy" Steele

1963 - 2018

Philip (Buddy) M. Steele, Jr. of Everett,  formally of Malden, passed away suddenly after a long illness on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the age of 54. Buddy was born in Malden on August 3, 1963, the son of Philip, Sr. and Shirley (Russell) Steele. He graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1981 where he worked at Sullivan’s Catering for many years before advancing to become Account Executive of AT&T for 17 years.

Buddy was a proud local and long-time member of the Malden Elks, Lodge 965, where he also served as Exalted Ruler. He spent his time among family and friends, where he was the most happiest, and enjoyed his best memories on cruises to the Caribbean, vacations to New Found Lake in Bristol, New Hampshire and trying to outsmart others in a friendly game of cards. A vivid storyteller, Buddy also enjoyed a variety of sports, especially baseball, and fishing but most importantly loved to enjoy the holidays surrounded by family and laughter.

He is survived by his former partner of 26 years, Paula Grasso, their children, Jaclyn L. Steele of Wakefield, Philip M. Steele, III of North Andover, and Kaitlyne M. Steele of Revere, along with his grandson Shawn Newman of Wakefield.  He is also survived by his loving siblings Ronald Steele of Florida, Jeffrey Steele of California, Nancy Mullen of Topsfield, MA, Susan Lynch of Malden, MA, Amy Hunter of Medford, MA, Marjorie Vogt and husband Richard Vogt of Dedham, MA, and Robert Steele of Melrose, MA along with many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial gathering will take place in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St.,  Malden on Monday,  Feb. 19, 2018 from  4-8 PM.

A memorial service for Buddy will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, in the funeral home at 10 AM.
