Donald H. Staples

 

     Donald H. Staples, a longtime resident of Malden who moved to Bedford six years ago, passed away on Sunday, Oct   9th.   Donald was born in Malden in 1953, the son of late Egerton and Marjorie (Gardner) Staples.   He grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School with the Class of 1971.  

     A couple years after high school, he enlisted in the US Navy, and served as a Radio Operator during the Vietnam War.  Donald loved music, and he also enjoyed reading and writing.  In addition, he was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.   

     Donald is survived by his sister Barbara Staples of Medford, his brother Richard G. Staples of Wakefield. Loving uncle of one niece and six nephews. 

He was predeceased by his twin brother John E. Staples and Kenneth A. Staples.

      A  Memorial Service for Donald will be held on Sat, October 15th., at 1 PM, at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, with visitation held for 11- 1PM  prior to the service. 

      In lieu of flowers contributions in Donald’s memory may be made to the Bedford V.A.M.C. Patient Programs, 200 Spring Rd., Bedford, MA 01730. 

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Late US Navy Veteran, Vietnam.
