Frank Silva, a longtime resident of Malden,
passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the age of 91. Frank
was born in Boston in 1926, the son of Manuel R. and Ida J.
Silva. He grew up in Cambridge, and when WWII broke out, he
enlisted in the US Navy, serving aboard the LST285 in the
European Theater. After serving his country, he returned to the
Boston area, and went to work at the family chicken farm in
Chelmsford. He then went to work for Automatic Radio of Malden
as a Prototype Engineer, where he worked for over 36 years. He
had lived in Somerville and Tewksbury before settling in Malden
nearly 40 years ago. Recently, Frank had been living in
Chelmsford to be closer to family.
Frank was a longtime member of the Good
Shepherd United Methodist Church in Malden. He was also a proud
longtime member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Frank G.
Silva of Atkinson, NH, Stephen R. Silva of Danvers, Joseph L.
Silva of Chelmsford, David J. Silva of Tewksbury, and Lisa M.
Evans of ME, as well as 7 grandchildren, and 9
