Mary T. Seager

1926 - 2019

 

 

 

Mary T. Seager, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away in her daughter Mary Ann’s home on Saturday, October 26, with her loving family by her side. Mary was born in Charlestown in 1926, the daughter of John and Annie Motherway. She was raised in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School. In 1946, she married her sweetheart, John J. Seager. The famiy moved around while John served his military career in the Navy, and in 1960 they settled down in Malden after his retirement. Mary and John shared nearly 40 years of marriage together until his passing in 1985. Mary was a dedicated member of St. Josephs Church in Malden, where she was a Catholic Daughter, taught the Catechism, and enjoyed being a Reader at Mass. She also worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Bell Telephone, later AT&T up until her retirement.


She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Seager of Revere, Kevin D. Seager of NH, Charles “Fred” Seager of Malden , her grandchildren, Eric and Marie, and her great grandchildren, Mary June and Joseph Jr..


Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Seager, her son John J. Seager., her brothers, “Big” William Motherway, “Little” William Motherway, John Motherway, Peter Motherway, and her sister, Anna Smith.


A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed, Oct 30th in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed from 9AM to 11 AM. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
