George A. Salvi
George A. Salvi, of Saugus, formerly of Everett, passed away
with his family at his side, on Monday evening, April 1, 2019,
he was 73 years old. George was born in Cambridge, in July of
1945 to George A. & Olive (Hugo) Salvi. He was raised in Everett
and was a graduate of Everett High School.
After high school, in 1965 George would enter into the U.S. Air
Force and served during the Vietnam era. While serving his
country, George was trained as an Aircraft Mechanical
Technician. He was later promoted to Sergeant E-4 in July of
1967. In December of 1968 George was discharged from the United
States Air Force.
George would later marry Karen M. Bergeron and the couple would
settle in Everett, and start a family. The couple would later
welcome into their new family three boys and one daughter, Sean
P., Tony G., Gina and Chris R. Salvi.
After his Air Force service George took employment with the City
of Everett in the Department of Public works. He was employed
with the city over 20 years, until an injury forced his early
retirement. George was an avid Boston Sports fan. Mostly he
enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox & New England Patriots. He
enjoyed watching his children in their younger years at their
different sporting events, and was the type of father that never
missed any games.
George is survived by his four children, his sons, Sean P.
Salvi, Tony G. Salvi and his wife Andrea, his daughter, Gina
Carrigan and her husband Joseph and son Chris R. Salvi and his wife Sheri
was the cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Treva, Jared, Logan,
Kara, Paige, Chloe Emma and Morgan. George’s two sisters Cheryl
Rust & Marion Lewis.
He was predeceased by his wife Karen M. Salvi and his parents
George A. & Olive (Hugo) Salvi.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his memorial
visiting hours, in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home,
144 Salem St., Malden on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6 -8PM.
