Harold F. Ritson Sr.
of Malden passed away Monday evening April 22, 2019 in the
Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, with his loving family
at his side, he was 78. Harry was one of fifteen children born
to Thomas & Madeline (Bryant) Ritson. He was born in Lowell and
lived most of his life in Malden. He was a graduate of Malden
On June 30, 1962 Harry would marry the love of his life, Carolyn E.
Healey. The couple settled in Malden and started a family. They
would later welcome into their family, two boys, Harold F.
Ritson Jr. & Scot R. Ritson. Harry & Carol would spend the next
52 years together until Carol’s passing in 2014.
Harry worked for the New England Metal Spinners in Malden and later
when the company moved to Gloucester and renamed to Bomco. He
finally retired in 1996 after 40 years with the company.
During his time off, Harry loved traveling the country from the
Great Smoky Mountains to the Rocky Mountains with his loving
wife, Carol. He liked spending time with his brother and best
friend, Mel Ritson. Harry enjoyed fishing, working on cars,
going on road trips and cookouts with family and friends. He
loved to spoil his dogs Skippy & Oscar & cats Mittens and Katkat.
He cherished all his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his sons, Harold F. Ritson Jr. of Malden, Scot
R. Ritson and his wife Kathleen of Wilmington. His loving sister
Hazel Hume of Florida. His four grandchildren Nicole Ritson,
Samantha (Ritson) Calderon, Kyle Ritson and Heather Ritson. His
three great-grandchildren Mia, Marianna and Elena Calderon.
Harry is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Harry is predeceased by his parents Thomas & Madeline Ritson, his
cherished wife Carolyn E. (Healey) Ritson and his siblings with
the exception of Hazel.
Funeral services for Harry will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden
Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday, April 26,
2019 at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery,
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday
April 25, 2019 from 4-8PM.
