 Linda B. (Prince) Powers

Linda B. (Prince) Powers, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at the age of 74. Linda was born in 1942, the only daughter of William and Ethel Prince. She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1959. She then attended Boston State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She began working as a kindergarten teacher at different schools including the Horace Mann School in Everett. She worked as a teacher until 1980, when she retired from that vocation and began working at Jordan Marsh in Malden, as a customer service representative in their baking department. She continued with the company after the merger with Macy’s, and fully retired in 2014.

In 1966, she married the love of her life, Roger E. Powers, in the Glendale Methodist Church in Everett. The two then settled down in Malden to raise their family. She became a dedicated member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Malden and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Saugus. She loved her Church and took an active role, singing with the Choir and serving on the Women’s Guild within the Church. In her spare time she had a passion for playing bingo, and as many know, she adored her cats.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Milam of Malden and Mark Powers and wife Candice of Everett, and her grandchildren, Sarah, Hailey, Joshua, and Makenzie.

Funeral Services for Linda will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 8 Prospect St, Saugus, MA 01906, on Tuesday, Dec 27th, at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec 26th, from 4 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 8 Prospect St, Saugus, MA 01906 or  Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
