Shirley M. Mudge


Shirley M. (Mann) Mudge, a retired office manager, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, in Stoneham. Shirley was born in Malden in in 1927, the daughter of Clyde and Alverta (Wyle) Mann. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1945. She soon married her sweetheart, John F. Mudge, and the two settled down to raise their family. In addition to being a housewife and mother, Shirley worked for the Neleco Chemical Company in Malden as an office manager. She worked there for 20 years before retiring.


Shirley was a long time member of the Womens Traffic Club of New England, and was active with the Oak Grove Community Center. She enjoyed sports, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and was generally a very creative person.


She is survived by her daughter, Alice P. Schena of Everett,   4 grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.


Shirley was preceded in death by her husband John F. Mudge Sr, her children, Margarite Kennedy, John F. Judge Jr., and John T. Cadger, as well her sisters, Doris M. Porter, and Lorraine Mann, and her brother, Roger C. Mann Jr.


 Funeral services will be private.
