George Edmund Milton

                                                                                  January 20, 1936- January 19, 2018

   G. Edmund Milton of Derry, NH & Malden, MA, passed away Friday morning January 19, 2018 at the Courville at Manchester, in Manchester, NH, he was 81. Ed was born in Malden on January 20, 1936 the son of the late George W. & Greta J. (Bernard) Milton. He was raised and educated in  Malden.

   After high school Ed dedicated his life to the family business, I. Milton & Sons Inc., a well-known and respected ice, coal and oil dealer in the greater Malden area. Ed would later marry the love of his life Joan C. (Dillman) Milton, on October 8, 1955 at the First Church in Malden. The couple remained in Malden and started a family; they would later welcome into the family, three children, Kathy, Holly and Dale.

   Mr. Milton was an active member of the church for many years, and served as a Deacon and served on the Board of Directors. He was also a Freemason. He spent many happy hours working in his home workshop. He was also a talented wood worker and leather worker. Edmund enjoyed ten pin bowling and spent many years as a member of a league in Malden. He greatly enjoyed travelling in his motor home on many trips around the US and their visits to family in Canada. He and Joan also enjoyed square dancing and playing cards. His generosity and jovial nature will be missed by all.

   Ed was the loving father of Kathy E. Marburger and her husband Randy of Austin, TX, Holly J. Grass and her husband Joshua of Leamington Spa, UK and Dale E. Milton and his wife Alex of Derry, NH. Cherished grandfather of Miller, Andrew and Carter Grass. He was the brother of David Milton of NH. Ed is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Edmund was predeceased by his loving wife Joan C. (Dillman) Milton.

   Relatives and friends may call at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral, Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4-8 PM for a memorial gathering.

Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden, in the summer.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Edmund’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
