Alice M. (Roberts) Miller,
a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Thursday,
September 22nd, in Wakefield. Alice was born in
Boston in 1925, the daughter of late John and Josephine Roberts. While
growing up, she attended Cambridge Ringe and Latin. After high
school she began working making false teeth, until 1946, when
she married her sweetheart, Alfred C. Miller, in Cambridge.
They lived in Cambridge for a short time before moving to
Allston, and then settling down in Malden where they raised their
family. They shared over 30 years together until Alfred's
passing in 1978. Over the years Alice had worked at Kings Department
store in Malden, and served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.
She was a long time communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in
Malden. She was also a dedicated mother and grandmother, and
was very involved in the raising of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her
children, Alfred C. Miller Jr. and his wife Ida of Malden, and
Kathy A. D’Entremont and her husband William of Londonderry, NH, her
sister Gertrude Marokovic of Lincoln, as well as 6 grandchildren
and 6 great grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death
by her husband Alfred, and her siblings, Joseph O’Brien,
Katherine Daveris, John Roberts Jr., Frances McIver, and Helen
Alice's funeral will be
held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem
St, Malden, on Monday, Sept. 26th, at 9:30 AM followed by a
Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden at
Interment to follow in
Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
Visitation will be held at
the funeral home on Sunday, Sept 25th, from 4 – 8 PM.
