John J. Micue Jr.

November 11, 1938- March 15, 2017



   John J. Micue Jr., a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 15, 2017, in his home, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. John was born in Bar Harbor, Maine, in 1938, the son of the late John and Maude (Huckins) Micue.


   Johnís family later moved to Malden at an early age where he was raised and educated. John was a graduate of the Malden Vocational School, in the automotive field. After high school he entered the auto industry as a body shop technician. John worked many years with the Avis Auto Rental Company and later with Samís Services and Broadway Auto & Glass in Malden,  Walsh Auto Body and Truck in Somerville,  and Sawyer Tire and Truck in Everett.  In 1960, he married his sweetheart, Nancy J. Micue, and the two settled down in Malden where they raised their family. They couple shared over 56 years of marriage together.


   John enjoyed spending time at his lakefront home on Estes Lake in Sanford, Maine. John and his family have many fond memories of the lake, fishing there, and spending time with friends and family. John was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed following all of the Boston Sports teams.

   He is survived by his wife Nancy J. (Scuteri) Micue, his children, Nancy-Lynn Bishop of Nahant, Deborah A. Mullaly of Everett, and John J. Micue III of Haverhill, his cherished grandchildren, Thomas Bishop of Haverhill, John J. Micue IV & Benjamin A. Micue both of Georgetown, Grace A. Mullaly of Everett, his godson John Ellis, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Snow.


   Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11AM. Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.


   Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday March 19, 2017 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in Johnís memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-1800 or The ALS Association, MA Chapter, 315 Norwood Park South - 1st Floor - Norwood, MA 02062.
