Lisa L. McGough

Lisa L. McGough, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away in Boston on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Lisa was born in 1975, the daughter of Kenneth and Bunny McGough.  She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1993.  After high school she attended  the University of Massachusetts in Boston,  where she received her degree in Early Childhood Development.   She then took a job with the Melrose YMCA as a preschool teacher, where she has been working since.

Lisa loved to travel, and had a goal of visiting every state in the nation.  She also enjoyed reading, and loved visiting the Boston Public Library.  She loved her family, and tried to get together with her nephews every weekend.  In the 7 years since she was diagnosed with cancer, she fought a valiant fight against it, and never wanted to let anyone know she was feeling down or in pain.   She will be remembered for her fighting spirit and her love of music.

She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Bernice “Bunny” McGough, her  brother, Sean McGough and wife Darlene of Everett, her sister,  Sharon McGough and partner Robert Wedge of Everett,  her nieces Haley and Shayla, and her nephews, Nicholas, Alex, and Tyler.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Saturday, December 10th, at 9 AM followed by  a Mass of Christian  Burial in St.  Josephs Church, Malden, at 10 AM.  Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 9th, from 4 – 8 PM.
