Pasquale J. “Pat” Martone


July 17, 1944- December 23, 2018

 

   Pasquale J. “Pat” Martone, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Dec 23rd. Pat was born in Avellino, Italy in 1944, the son of Rocco and Mariangela Martone. At the age of 10, he moved to the Boston area with his family where they settled down in Malden. He was educated in the Malden School system and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1965. Pat served 6 years in the National Guard, with the 101 First Infantry Group. He went on to work for the MBTA, and joined Boston Carmans Union Local 589. He worked as a fare collector and a driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Italian American Citizens Club in Malden, where he was an avid bocce player. He also was a member of the American Legion in Malden.

   He is survived by his brother, Nicolas T. Martone of Wakefield, his sisters, of Lina DeSimone of Revere, and Angie M. Lampron of Groveland, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces great nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Mariangela Martone.

   Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Friday, December 28th, at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, Malden, at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec 27th, from 4:00PM – 8:00 PM.
