Eva J. (Edson) Marshall
1922 - 2019
Eva J. (Edson) Marshall, a longtime resident of Malden, passed
away on Tuesday, Nov 12th, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in
Danvers. Eva was born in Wakefield in 1922, the daughter of
Ralph and Mildred Edson. She was raised in Malden and graduated
from Malden High School. She went on to become a Bookkeeper,
both at Schraffts Candy and for the Maytag Appliance Company.
She had also worked as a dance instructor and was an avid
After moving to Vero Beach, Florida, Eva became an active member
of the community there, joining the Polish American Social Club,
and the Notables Chorus in Countryside. She was also an award
winning tennis player at the Tennis Club at Countryside while
living in Vero Beach.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Jenkins and husband
Stephen of MA, Janet Nelson and husband Gene of NH, Lenore
Mejias and husband Francesco LaRosa of MA, Karen Knowles of NC,
and Laurie Buckland of MA, as well as 25 grandchildren, 39 great
grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Marshall, and
her brothers Louis Edson, William Edson, and Orin Edson.
Funeral Services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Tuesday , November
19th, at 11am. Interment will be private. Visitation will be
held at the funeral home on Mon, Nov 18th, from 4 – 8 PM.
