Ruth E. (Brennan) Marino
1930 - 2020
Ruth E. Marino, a retired employee of the City of
Malden, passed away on Sunday, August 23rd, after a brief
illness. Ruth was born in Lynn, MA in 1930, the daughter of
William and Dorothy Brennan. She was raised and educated in
Lynn, graduating from Lynn Classical with the Class of 1948. She
married her sweetheart , Alphonse Joseph Marino, and the two
soon settled down in Malden to raise their family.
Ruth had worked for the City of Malden in the Planning
Department for many years. Budget cuts forced her position to be
eliminated, and she then went to work for Raytheon. Ruth was
also a 50 year member of T.O.P.S. in Malden, and later in other
cities as well. She was also active with the Irish American in
Malden, and is a Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
She is survived by her children, Ruth E. Marino of Everett,
Michael J. Marino of Malden, Margaret L. Choiniere and husband
Kenneth of Seekonk, Daniel J. Marino and wife Susan of FL, and
Terri A. Marino of Seekonk, her brother Harold Brennan of
Saugus, her granddaughters Marsha and Katelyn, and her
great-grandchildren, Mia and Landon.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse Joseph
Marino, her father William Brennan, her mother Dorothy Nelson
and her husband Harold, her son John R. Marino, her daughter
Karen J. Marino, and her siblings Arlene Allan, William Brennan,
Donald Brennan, and Dorothy King.
