Kwai Li

1928 - 2018

 

Kwai Li,  A long time resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Medford.  Kwai was born in Chingyuen, China in 1928.  He was raised and educated in China, and in 1973 he came to the United States with his wife, and the two settled down in Malden.  Kwai had worked at a chef in different restaurants,  including the Kowloon in Saugus.  He retired at the age of 62.  He enjoyed playing Mahjong,   he loved food, both cooking and eating, and he enjoyed settling down to read the newspaper. 

He is survived by his wife, Choi Sim Li of Malden, his children, Chi Kuen Lam of Winchester, Ching Yee Lee of Westwood, Chi Fun Lam of Westwood, and Sam Lee of Billerica, and his grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Hillary, Justin,  Jared, and Megan. 

Visitation will be held for Kwai at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden ,on Friday, April 13, from 5 – 8 PM.  On Saturday, April 14th, family and friends will gather at 10 AM for the funeral procession that will leave at 11 AM for interment in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
