Joseph E. Fielding Jr.
1921 - 2021

Joseph E. Fielding Jr., 99, passed away peacefully on
February 1st 2021. Joseph was born in Malden on August 25th 1921
and spent his entire life living in Malden. He was the son of
the late Joseph Fielding and Florence (Harding) (Fielding)
Plati.
Joseph graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1939
where he was on the hockey and football teams. Joseph served in
the Coast Guard for several years and is a veteran of World War
II. Later he went on to work as a maintenance man for Boston
Gas. He frequented the Peabody Senior Center where he played
bocci and pool. Joseph’s hobbies also included dancing,
listening to music, bowling and visiting his camp in Barnstead
New Hampshire with his family. Joe also had a love for horses.
He is survived by his nieces who consider him more of a father
figure Barbara Smith of Melrose and Karen Dellemonico of
Melrose. His brother Robert Fielding of Chicago. His sister
Marjorie LaCau of Malden. His Grandnieces and Nephews Kara
DeGuglielmo and husband Steven, Joshua Dellemonico, Jarred Smith, and Jeremy Smith.
Great Grandnieces and Nephews Madelyn DeGuglielmo, Dominic
DeGuglielmo, Lorenzo DeGuglielmo and Adrianna Morgan. Joseph is
also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in
death by his parents Joseph Fielding and Florence (Harding)
(Fielding) Plati, his sister Florence Zaia, and his brother
Allen Fielding.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Thursday February 4th at
12-2pm Interment to follow in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. |
