Dorothy A. “Dot” Hodgkins

Dorothy A. “Dot” Hodgkins, a resident of Lynn, passed away on Tuesday, January 13th, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born in Chelsea in 1960, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Hodgkins. She grew up in Chelsea and after completing her education began working at GE in Lynn. She worked in various positions at the plant, until layoffs forced her to leave the company. She later worked at the Dockside Restaurant in Malden, and had been managing the Yogurt Store and the Take Out Department at the restaurant.

Dorothy was a champion dart player, and had been involved in many dart leagues in the area over the years. She also loved animals, and had been a dog groomer over the years, as well as having taken many stray dogs into her home. She was a compassionate, caring person who could always see the good in people, had an engaging smile, and had the ability to make others laugh.

She is survived by her siblings, William F. Hodgkins of Lowell, Donna L. Malley of Lynn, Roberta A. Nason of Saugus, and Robert W. Hodgkins of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Dot will be held on Monday, January 18th, from 4 – 8 PM, with a prayer service being held at 7:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, Donations in Dot’s memory may be made to the Massachusetts Humane Society, 87 Wharf St, East Weymouth, MA 02189.
