Dorothy A. “Dot” Hodgkins, a
resident of Lynn, passed away on Tuesday, January 13th, after a
courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born in Chelsea in
1960, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Hodgkins. She grew up
in Chelsea and after completing her education began working at
GE in Lynn. She worked in various positions at the plant, until
layoffs forced her to leave the company. She later worked at the
Dockside Restaurant in Malden, and had been managing the Yogurt
Store and the Take Out Department at the restaurant.
Dorothy was a champion dart player, and had been involved in
many dart leagues in the area over the years. She also loved
animals, and had been a dog groomer over the years, as well as
having taken many stray dogs into her home. She was a
compassionate, caring person who could always see the good in
people, had an engaging smile, and had the ability to make
She is survived by her siblings, William F. Hodgkins of Lowell,
Donna L. Malley of Lynn, Roberta A. Nason of Saugus, and Robert
W. Hodgkins of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Dot will be held on Monday, January 18th, from 4
– 8 PM, with a prayer service being held at 7:00 PM.
