David P. Harvey, a longtime resident of
Malden, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at the
Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a lengthy
illness. David was born in Danvers in 1952, the son of Richard
and Mary Harvey. He was raised in Danvers and graduated from
Essex Agricultural School in Danvers with the Class of 1970.
He married his sweetheart, Darlena Martin, in March, 2005, and
the two settled down in Malden together.
David worked at the Massachusetts General
Hospital in Boston where he was a supervisor in charge of remodeling and
upgrading rooms and offices. He worked there until a disability
forced his early retirement. David had always been an
excellent cook and enjoyed making and preparing meals for friends
and family. He also
enjoyed watching news and sports with his wife Darlena. He
also was an animal lover, and had raised many great danes,
and he also enjoyed listening to music.
He is survived by his wife Darlena,
his son, Kevin Harvey of Holden, his step daughter, Jessica (Martin) Minieri of North Reading, his brothers, Brian Harvey of PA and
Richard Harvey of NH. And his grandsons, Jackson and Noah.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday,
November 3rd, at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, MA at 12 Noon, with time to gather
and share memories from 10-12.
