 Peter J. Halloran

 

1937 - 2018

 

Peter J. Halloran, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, passed away on Wed, Dec 12th, after a lengthy illness.  Peter was born in Swampscott in 1937, the son of Thomas and Katherine Halloran.  He was raised in Woburn, and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1955. In 1960, Peter joined the US Army, and served honorably during the Korean Conflict.  He then returned to the Woburn area.  He took employment with Western Union in Boston, working in the warehouse maintaining the electronic equipment there.  When he wasn’t working, Peter enjoyed playing the lottery and going to Suffolk Downs, he was also and avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his brother Paul.   Peter was a member of the  Woburn VFW Post 543, the Woburn Lodge of Elks #908, and the Woburn Moose Lodge #1214.

He is survived by his sister,  Mary Lou Danehy of FL, his brothers, Thomas Halloran of FL and Philip Halloran of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his brother Paul Halloran, and his sister Patricia Brown, and his sister in law, Lillian Petruzello.

Funeral Services will be held from the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Wednesday, December 19th, at 9:00 AM Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, Malden, at 10:00 AM.  Interment will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn, at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 18th, from 4:00 PM to  8:00 PM.

Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Chelsea Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150.
