                                                                                               Michael J. Glionna

                                                                   June 6, 1978- September 20, 2016


     Michael J. Glionna of Malden, an Assistant Vice President of the Asset Management Services of the State Street Bank of  Boston, and a lifelong resident of Malden,  passed away suddenly of an aortic aneurysm in the Boston Medical Center in Boston, Tuesday afternoon, he was 38 years old. Michael was born in Malden on June 6, 1978.  He was the adored and only son of Raymond & Terese M. (Petraglia) Glionna.

     Mike was educated in the Malden School system and later graduated from Suffolk University in Boston in 2003. He was employed with the State Street Bank of Boston for the last fifteen years working his way up the ladder, becoming an Assistant Vice President of Asset Management Services of the Bank,  a job that he loved dearly. His team of co-worker's were called “The Wolf Pack”  and he so loved working with them all. His clients called him "The  Gentlemen” .

     Mike had a very strong love for his family, relatives and all his friends. He held a special place in his heart for his Fiancée, Carla M. Botelho. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back.

     Mike was a great athlete in his college days playing baseball for Suffolk University; he was an avid Boston sports fan. He loved to read a good novel. He had a strong love for horses and animals. His family said he had a heart of gold.

     Michael is survived by his parents, Raymond & Terese M. (Petraglia) Glionna of Malden.  Beloved  older brother of Kimberly R. MacDonald and her husband  Ian of  Stoneham and  Maria D. Glionna of  Malden, as well as a loving uncle of Matthew, Lauren his God-daughter, and  Emma.  The love of his life and soul mate & fiancée Carla M. Botelho of  Stoughton  & Carla’s children Cassandra & Catarina  Melo fulfilled his life.  He was also survived by many cherished  aunts, uncles,  cousins & friends.

He was the beloved grandson of the late Domenic & Theresa Petraglia and Joseph & Rose Glionna.

     Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Friday Sept. 23, 2016 at 8AM follow by a Mass of Christian burial  at St. Joseph’s Church, Malden at 9AM. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

     Friends & relative may call at the funeral home on  Thursday, September 22, 2016  from  4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the MSPCA-Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
