Claire M. (Walsh) Doucette, a lifelong
resident of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, in
Peabody. Claire was born in Stoneham in 1929, the daughter of
Francis and Ruth Walsh. She was raised in Malden, and graduated
from Malden High School with the Class of 1947. In 1952, she
married her sweetheart, John A. Doucette, and the two settled
down in Malden to raise their family. Claire and John were
married for over 57 years until his passing in 2009.
Claire was an active member of St. Josephs
Church in Malden, and was a member of the St. Josephs Womens
Club, as well as serving as a Eucharist Minister. She was also
a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield. She
enjoyed traveling with her husband, and cherished her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Cox
of Peabody, Gail Surette and husband Jim of Malden, Christine
Barbas of Malden, Diane Doucette of Exeter, NH, her son in law
Dan Cox of Beverly, her grandchildren, Jonathan Surette of
Haverhill, Stephanie Skoog of N. Reading, Ryan Cox of Peabody,
Christopher Surette of Saugus, Amy Brennan of Lynnfield, Ariana
Barbas of Saugus, her great grandchildren, Giuliana and Antonio
Surette and Morgan and Emma Skoog, her niece Kathleen Walsh
Becker, and her nephews, Joseph, Kevin, Thomas and David Walsh.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband
John, her parents Francis and Ruth Walsh, her siblings, Francis
Walsh and Joseph Walsh, her niece Patricia Stephenson, and her
nephew Jack Walsh.

Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Monday, September 27th
at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s
Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Forest Dale
