Catherine Rose Dimino
Catherine Rose Dimino of Malden and Louisville KY passed away
peacefully Friday evening, January 31, in the arms of her
fiancée, Jeff Lopez. Catherine passed after a three year,
valiant battle, with Pancreatic Cancer. She is survived by her
parents Tom & Lisa Dimino of Peabody and RoseAnne Dimino & her
fiancée, Ken Nugent of Malden, her brothers and sisters Marie &
Glen Noble, and Tommy & Hilary Dimino all of Malden. She also
leaves her nephews and nieces, Anthony, Andrew, Gianna Noble,
and Josie Dimino. She will be sorely missed by her fur babies
Lola and Rex.
Catherine was born in Malden and began her education at Rainbow
School in Malden where she met her lifelong friends too numerous
to name. She later attended Cheverus School and Pope John High
School graduating in the Class of 2006. Her love of horses
started at a young age where she attended riding lessons and
practiced as a working student at Revere/Saugus Riding Academy.
She went on to study Equine Sciences at UNH, Business Management
at Salem State, Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Equine
Management from Mount Ida College, Class of 2011.
She worked for the Massachusetts Racing Commission at Suffolk
Downs in the summer seasons and the winter seasons at Tampa Bay
Downs where she met her love Jeff. Together they traveled to
Louisville, where she worked at Churchill Downs as a racing
official. Sadly, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic
Cancer at the young age of 29. During her struggle, she was an
example to all as she handled her painful treatments with
dignity and grace. Catherine never complained, always fighting
her battle with the unending help of her brothers and sisters,
who never wavered in their support.
Catherine will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Please celebrate her life with her family on Thursday, February
6, from 4 to 8 pm. A celebration of life will be on Friday,
February 7, at 10AM in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
