Dorothy E.  DeMartino


October 9, 1922- May 11, 2018



   Dorothy E. (Profenna) DeMartino passed away early Friday morning after a short illness in the Haywood Hospital in Gardner, MA, she was 95. Dorothy was born in Boston on October 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Vincent & Emily I. (Cerosimo) Profenna.

   Dorothy was raised in Everett and after attending school there, she went on to work at Market Forge in Everett and for the Malden Public Schools, as a cafeteria worker.

   After retirement, Dorothy dedicated herself full time to her children and grandchildren. Nothing gave Dorothy more happiness than being surrounded by her family, eating one of her amazing meals she cooked. In addition to spending time with family, Dorothy loved spending time with her dogs, Jax and DJ, and watching Lifetime movies.

There is no replacing her and she will be extremely missed by all who knew her.

   Dorothy was the devoted and loving mother of Linda A. DeMartino-Hendron and her husband Gregory and Donna M. DeMartino of Peabody. She was the loving sister of Vincent Profenna of Millville, MA Dorothy is the cherished grandmother of John, Michael, Thomas, and Kathleen, great-grandmother of Silvio, Gianna, Rocco, John, Mason, Makayla, Leonard, Gavin and Anthony.

   Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Silivo DeMartino who passed away on January 10, 1994, her sister’s, Josephine Cirino formerly of Everett, Emily Fritz formerly of Malden and her brother William Profenna formerly of Billerica.

   Relatives and friends are welcome to a prayer service in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1 PM.

   Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home, prior to the prayer service from 11AM- till 1 PM.
All are welcome to the graveside service in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
