N. Cusson, a longtime Secretary for the Centre United Methodist
Church in Malden, passed away on October 22, 2016 at the
Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, with her family at her
side, she was 84. Born in Malden, MA the daughter of the late
Carl Van Linde & Marcella A. (Riggs) Blomerth.
Mrs. Cusson was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate
of Malden High School Class of 1950. She later met and married
her sweetheart Robert H. Cusson and the couple married on
September 5, 1952 in Malden and remained in Malden and started a
family. They would welcome into their loving family five
children, Paul, Robert, Mark, Gayle and Gary. Marcella worked
for the former Centre United Methodist in Malden Square as the
church secretary for thirty-five years.
Soon after retirement, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, but
that didn’t slow her down, and with her husband continued to
travel around the country to visit with extended family and
In her spare time she enjoyed her Bunka (Japanese Embroidery
Work), her time spent with the United Methodist Women and was a
Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow. She was a longtime quilter and a
cherished grandmother to her grandchildren & great-
From 2002 – 2006 she was an active volunteer and treasurer of
the Soldier’s Home Community while her husband was receiving
care there until his last days.
Marcella is survived by her children, Paul S. Cusson and his
wife Maire, Robert A. Cusson and his wife Terri, Gary W. Cusson
and his wife Julie all of Connecticut, Gayle E. Wierszchelek of
Malden and her eleven grandchildren & six great-grandchildren.

Marcella was predeceased by her husband Robert H. Cusson, her
son Mark S. Cusson, her son in-law Joseph Wierszchalek and her
siblings, Virginia, Carl, Edward, Sheldon, Irene Garfield and
Funeral services will be held in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Thursday, October 27,
2016 at 10 AM and will be interred at Puritan Lawn in Peabody.
