Doris  M. Coombs

September 27, 1917-August 5, 2017

 

    Doris M. (Sheridan) Coombs of Malden died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Saturday morning, after a brief illness, she was 99.  Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Errol & Jennie F. (Rowe) Sheridan.  She was born in Springfield, MA, later moving to Chelsea & Everett, with her family. She later settled in Malden and continued raising her two sons and one daughter.

    Doris was a home maker, in her younger years she enjoyed cooking for her loving family, she resided at home on Highland Ave. right up until her passing.

    Doris is survived by her sons, Raymond A. Coombs and his wife Jeanette of Wakefield, Norman W. Coombs and his wife Carol of Andover. Doris was the cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren & sixteen great-grandchildren.

    She was predeceased by her daughter Gail S. Coombs formerly of Malden who passed on April 28, 1988 and her brother Thomas Sheridan formerly of Malden.

    Funeral services will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Tuesday morning,  August 8, 2017  at 11AM. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service from 10-11AM.  Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
