Christopher Benson Eschenbach, 41, passed away
on May 7, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in
Boston, Massachusetts after a very courageous battle with liver
He was born in Laconia, NH, the son of Walter B. and Sylvia J.
Eschenbach. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts
from Plymouth State University and worked for Harvard’s American
Repertory Theater in the technical department in Cambridge,
Mass. for over 15 years.
Chris will be remembered by his family and countless friends for
his boundless sense of humor, creativity, curiosity, generous
and compassionate nature, and eclectic tastes in food, music,
and art. Among his interests were film, theatre, in making music
with friends, cooking, birding, gaming, drawing and painting. He
also loved biking, hiking in the mountains, geocaching, and rock
In life, and especially in his illness, he took great comfort
from Buddhist studies.
Chris is survived by his significant other, Sarah J. Fleming of
Jamaica Plain, Mass., father Ben Eschenbach of San Leandro,
California, his brother Michael Eschenbach of Dammam, Saudi Arabia,
his sister Debbie Eschenbach of Laconia, NH, and his long-time feline
companion Suzanne, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and friends.
A time for memorialization and reflection will
be held for Chris on Thursday, May 19th, at the
Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden,
from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
