Mabel  F. "Mae" Casey

March 12, 1936-March 18, 2018


    Mabel F. “Mae” Casey of Melrose, formerly of Malden passed away on Sunday evening, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, she was 82. Mae was the loving daughter of the late William & Mabel (Neary) Callahan. She was born in March of 1936 in Boston and raised in Revere. She was a graduate of Revere High School Class of 1954. 

   Along with raising five children Mae worked as a legal secretary, for 18years. She then worked at Laila Produce in the New England Produce Center in Chelsea, until she retired.

   Mae loved to play bingo and loved going to Foxwoods with George, or family and friends. She loved her vacations with George and the family up in Maine, on the lake. Most of all Mae loved spending time with her children & grandchildren.

   Mae is survived by her longtime companion of George E. Burridge of Melrose. She is the devoted mother of William J. Casey and wife Susan of Salisbury, Deborah A. Casey of Saugus, Edward Casey and wife Tricia of Woburn, Patrick Casey and wife Sharon of Saugus and the late James E. Casey Jr.  and his wife Judith Casey of Peabody.  Loving sister of Jack Callahan and his wife Barbara of VA. Cherished   grandmother of William Jr., Jennifer, Michael, Sean, Kirsten Casey and Erica Ledford and many loving nieces & nephews.  

   Funeral service for Mae will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday morning from 9AM-11AM.

Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

   In lieu of flowers contributions in Mae’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701
