James E. Casey Jr

1955 - 2017

 

James E. Casey Jr, a longtime resident of Everett, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 29th, 2017.  Jim was born in Boston in 1955, the son of James E. and Mabel Casey.  The family moved to Everett when Jim was young and it was there he was raised and educated, graduating from Everett Vocational High School with the Class of 1976.  He went on to become a carpenter, working independently in the area.  In 1985, he married his sweetheart, Judith A. DeTucci, and the two settled down together in Everett to raise their family.  They shared over 30 years of loving marriage together.

Outside of work, Jim enjoyed sports and nascar.  In years past was an avid softball player.  He enjoyed playing darts and going bowling, and was a past member of the Malden Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Casey, his daughter Jennifer L. Casey and her fiancé, Eddie Reis, his mother Mabel Casey and her longtime companion, George Burridge of Melrose, his siblings, William J. Casey and wife Susan of Salisbury,  Deborah Casey of Saugus, and Edward Casey and wife Tricia of Woburn, and his in-laws, Donald and Charrie DeTucci of Lynn, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Proud grandson of "Nana" Casey, originally of Germany.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James E. Casey Sr.

Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Mon, Dec 4th, from 4-7 PM. All other services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
