Cosmo N. "Moe" Capomaccio

Cosmo N. “Moe” Capomaccio, passed
peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 12, 2018
at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to
Frances (Winn) Capomaccio whom he met at Fran’s Diner in the
summer of 1959. Born in Somerville on May 5, 1939, Cosmo was the
youngest child of the late John Capomaccio and Philomena
“Minnie” (Vaudo) Capomaccio.
Cosmo worked as a Produce Manager at First National and Purity
Supreme supermarkets for which he received many accolades for
his outstanding produce displays. He was an avid sports fan and
shared his love of the Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and NE
Patriots with his family. He coached Little League, enjoyed
Lifetime movies, and was an exceptional whistler. Cosmo loved to
dance and got a kick out of winning a dance contest doing the
Twist. As a betting man, Cosmo also enjoyed horseracing, not
only for the thrill of a wager, but also for his love of
watching the speed and beauty of a running horse. He had a
passion for weather and would manually track blizzards,
hurricanes and nor’easters on paper charts. Cosmo was happiest
at a ball field watching one of his grandchildren's games. Not a
day was complete unless it ended with something sweet- a piece
of Italian pastry or chocolate candy- and always with a glass of
A kind-hearted man with a fun-loving spirit, Cosmo will be missed
dearly by his wife, Frances (Winn); his children, Carol
Capomaccio and partner Barb Wood of Portland, ME; David
Capomaccio and wife Theresa of Methuen, MA; Steven Capomaccio
and wife Margaret of Milton, GA; Nancy (Capomaccio) Ruth and
husband Robert of Delmar, NY; and Mark Capomaccio and wife
Nicole of DePere, WI; his grandchildren, Vincent, Michael,
Anthony, Miranda, Leah, Erika, Benjamin, Chloe, Caden, Ella and
Hudson; his brother, John Capomaccio and wife Angie; sister Ann
Garrett; aunt, Jennie Gallinaro; sister-in-law, Elizabeth
“Betty” Winn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was
preceded in death by his sisters Nancy and Josephine.
The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude the
support and loving care received from Hospice Services of
Massachusetts, who compassionately made Cosmo’s final days
peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice
Services of Massachusetts 391 Broadway St Everett, MA 02149.
Funeral will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral
Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 9AM,
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church,
770 Salem St., Malden at 10AM.
Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday,
April 17, 2018 from 4-8 PM.
