Richard S. "Rick"  Caban


Caban, Richard S. "Rick" , Nov 21, of Malden, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, Nov 21st. Richard was born in Michigan in 1953, one of three children to John S. and Leona  "Lottie"  Caban. Richard was raised and educated in Michigan, and remained there for many years after high school.

 Around 30 years ago, Richard moved to Massachusetts. He lived in Boston for a few years, and then in Lynn, before settling in Malden a couple years ago.  Richard had been working in the construction/carpentry field for many years, and the last few years in the property maintenance field where he was employed by Winn Residential in the Boston area. He was an antique enthusiast, and was especially interested in antique glass. He also enjoyed “training” bonsai trees, and had been shaping them for many years. Also, he loved to read & write, and wrote a unique novel of his own.


He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly S. Caban of GA, his mother Lottie Caban of MI, his brother Tony Caban of MI, his sister Rose Caban, and his former wife Georgia Caban of FL.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Caban, and his sister Janet Jones.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sat, Nov 26th, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St, Malden, at 10 AM.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4- 8 PM.

Interment will be private.
