"Billy" L. Brooks
William L. “Billy” Brooks, a
resident of Boston, passed away suddenly in his home in Boston
at the age of 52. Billy was born in Malden in 1969, the son of
Walter and the late Nancy (Cairney) Brooks. He was born and
raised in Malden, graduating from Malden High School with the
Class of 1987. Early on he worked at Fidelity Investments in
Melrose as a Mail Clerk and then joined the Local 17 Sheet Metal
Union and worked as a “tin knocker”. Billy enjoyed the Boston
sports teams, and was an especially avid Bruins fan. He was a
musician and played bass guitar which he was very passionate
about and very much enjoyed watching his son follow in his
footsteps. He also was a skilled artist and enjoyed drawing.
He is survived by his son Zachary W. Brooks of Peabody, his
father Walter G. Brooks of Wilmington, his brother, Scott A.
Brooks and wife Suzanne of Wilmington, and his sister Linda J.
Brooks of Whitinsville, niece Taylor (Brooks) Donahue and her
husband Peter, niece Amanda Jones and nephew Christopher Jones,
both of Malden, and many friends.
A memorial wake will be held at the Weir – MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Wednesday, July 21st,
from 2 – 4 PM.
