 Joan A. Boyce

1932 - 2017

 

 

Joan A. (MacCuish)Boyce, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away in her home surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, December 19th.  Joan was born in Malden in 1932, the daughter of William and Elizabeth MacCuish.  She was raised and educated in Malden, and in 1952, she married her sweetheart, Donald W. Boyce, and the two settled down in Malden together to raise their family.  They shared nearly 65 years of marriage until Donnie’s passing last year.  Joan was very dedicated to her family, and enjoyed vacationing with her husband, as well as wintering in Orlando and Punta Gorda, Florida.  She also enjoyed passing the time with jigsaw puzzles.

She survived by her children, Joan Allder and husband Larry of Punta Gorda, FL, Donald Boyce and wife Linda of Peabody, Donna Freni and husband Robert of Malden, and Thomas Boyce and wife Maureen of Peabody, her sisters, Barbara James of AL, Doris Howell of AL, Ruthie LeBlanc of Reading, Kathy Greene of VT, her brother, Richard MacCuish of Malden, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her granddaughter Kristine Boyce, her brother Robert MacCuish, and her sisters, Betty Ann Walker and Margaret MacCuish. 

Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Friday, December  22, at 10 AM.  Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery,  150 Forest Street, Malden.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December  21st, from 4- 8 PM
