 Theresa F. (Villani)  Bigglestone


Theresa F. (Villani)  Bigglestone, Feb 12th, of Revere, passed away on Sunday, Feb 12th, in Lynn.   Theresa was born in Auburn, Maine, in 1924, the daughter of Frank and Florence Villani.  She was raised in Lewiston, Maine, and after graduating high school, she began assisting in the WWII home front effort.  She worked at the Bath Iron Works, where she was a tack welder, and helped build naval destroyers.  In 1951, she married her sweetheart, Norman G. Bigglestone in Portsmouth, NH.  They first settled down together in NH, before moving to Everett, then Malden, and finally  Revere where they remained, raising their family.  Theresa and Norman shared over 30 years of marriage together until his passing in 1982.

Theresa has been a dedicated communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Revere for over 50 years.  She was also a longtime member of Malden Lions Club, where she served as secretary and treasurer, and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.   She was an avid gardener, growing both flowers and vegetables.    She was also an artist and was active with the Winthrop and Everett Art Associations, and she enjoyed working with pastels and oil paints, often creating seascapes.

Theresa is survived by her children, Sandra M. William of Lynnfield, and  Robinlee M. Thomas of Lynn,  her brother Ramon Villani of Lewiston, ME, and her grandchildren, Julie Cambece of Lynnfield, Kelly Ciccone of Middleton, Eric Williams of Stoneham, and Christopher Tardie of Lynn, her great grandchild, Addison,  as well as many many nieces and nephews.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and her siblings, Evelyn Sweeney , Annette O’Neil, Carl  Jackobsen, Frank Villani, Gloria Williams, and Dante Villani. 

Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, on Saturday, Feb 18th, at 7:45 AM,  followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary s Church, Revere, at 9 AM.   Interment to follow in Woodlawn  Cemetery, Everett. 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb 17th, from 4-8 PM.
