Gladys  Barilone

 

Gladys Barilone, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Jan 31st, at her home in Malden.  Gladys was born and raised in Chelsea, MA.  After marrying her sweetheart, George Barilone, the two settled down to raise their family.  Nearly 35 years ago, they moved to Malden together and have lived there since.

For many years Gladys worked as a home health aide.  She also had done some house cleaning on the side.  She retired from that around the age of 50. She enjoyed many different crafts, including crocheting. Doll making, making blankets and even candy.  Gladys liked to do puzzles.  She also was a very  skilled sketch artist.  Gladys also held a great love for her dog Otis.

She is survived by her husband, George Barilone Sr,  her children, George Barilone Jr. of Tewksbury, Joseph Barilone of Everett, and Gino Barilone of Everret, her siblings, sister of Betty Hubner of FL, William Abramofsky of Lynnfield, Marilyn Abramofsky of Roslindale, and her grandchildren, of Kyri, Stephanie, Dylana, Cameron, and Austin.

Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Cardone and Diane Abramofsky. 

Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem ST, Malden on Thurs, Jan 4th, from 4 – 8 PM.  Services from the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Fri, Jan 5th at 9:30 for a 10 AM graveside committal in Holy Cross Cemtery, Malden
