Adelina L. Torres

1949 - 2021

 

 

Adelina Louisa Torres,72,passed  away Thursday, November 25th, 2021 at her home in Melrose,  Massachusetts. Adelina was born August 13th, 1949 in Melrose, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Ruth S.Torres, and Angel Y. Torres Sr. She is preceded in death by her three sisters Candida B. Torres, Ruth A. Torres- Dent, Anna M. Sparrow, and her brother Angel Torres, Jr.

Adelina graduated from Malden High School in 1967. She then immediately began working at John Hancock Financial Services as an Administrative Assistant in Boston, Massachusetts. There she earned her Associates Degree in Business at Bay State College and continued to work for the company for 38 years. After retiring from John Hancock Financial Services in 2005, she then worked at Malden Public Library where she was well loved by her co-workers and the public, until her retirement in 2018. Adelina was a devoted
sister and aunt. In her spare time she enjoyed watching tennis matches, and online shopping, but her greatest joy was spending
time with her family. Though she will be remembered for her resilience, generosity and keen intellect, she will be deeply
missed by family, friends and everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her 8 nieces and nephews, Candida M. Torres of Malden, Rafael S.Torres of Melrose, Angel N. Torres of California, Arianne M. Torres of Medford, Angel Y. Torres III of Medford, Adrianna C. Dent- Firicano of Winthrop, Adelena M. DeVita of Somerville, and Kip  A. Sparrrow of Florida. She is also survived by her great-nieces and her great-great-nieces and nephew.

A memorial service will be held in the Weir-MacCuish Family Funeral Home in Malden on Friday December 10th. Family and Friends are invited to gather for visitation from 11-1 followed by a service at 1. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 144
